Advaita Vedanta on Samkara

There is really no dearth of treatises on the ‘Philosophy of Samkara”, nonetheless there is need to interpret and re-interpret time and again thoughts of any philosophers making them relevant for the present. It is desirable to re-investigate into the theories and throw new light on the escaped or unacknowledged aspects, without imputation or coloring of our vision by available traditional interpretations . ‘Let the text or author speak for himself’, is the motive behind the present work; since Samkara’s philosophy is studied by many, but whether logically those interpretations are faithful and consistent with his writings in a million-dollar question. It is this insight behind the present work. while writing this thesis although Samkara’s Bhasya on the Upanisads and the Gita are used as the authentic-sources, more emphasis is led upon his Brahma-Sutras-Bhasya to unearth his philosophy. The task is carried out in twelve chapters.
